Plus SIX and so much fun...

What a beautiful day we are having. The sun is shinning and the snow is sparkling !
Just wish it would melt fast, the grass will go green, flowers will bloom and spring will be here.
Not likely.
It is beautiful that the kids spent a few hours outside ...enjoy.
I think it just may take forever for all of our snow to melt.
Come spring come soon.....PLEASE!

I was tagged by Noel....

Okay ...it has been so long since my blogging friend Noel tagged me in early February.
But these past few weeks have been so crazy.
So la m just getting to it now. But late then never.
5 Weird things about me....
  1. I like to dip my grilled cheese sandwich in mayo instead of the regular ketchup. I know that sounds weird, but oh so yummy and good except all the calories.
  2. I wear my woolly socks to bed and then kick them off during the night. l can't go to sleep unless l have them on.
  3. I keep boxes. Boxes for anything and everything. Why? I really don't know!
  4. I have a bath and then a shower all in the same night. I like to sit and relax in the tub, do the girly thing, then l pull the plug and have a shower and wash my hair.
  5. I could spend hours and hours in office supply stores just looking at the pens, paper, note books. Everything. I have been like this since l was a little girl. I love it!

So these are just a few weird things about me :)

Let me know your weird things about you!

Sharing a few ....

Just wanted to share a few from a recent photo shoot. A mom and her two children.
The lighting was great.
Shot with all natural light with my Pentax X-10.
Thanks for looking.

update on Braydon....

Just a quick update on Braydon.
He is awake and is talking abit.
The medication is extremely strong so he is alittle out of it.
The concern at this but is did the swelling case any brain damage.
I spoke to my friend last night before bed and she said that he still can't walk.
he can move his legs in the bed abit but is unable to move them when walking and that he is in extreme pain when standing.
The doctors said that they thought that would be getting better alot faster, but everyone is different and that it is just a waiting game.
The good news is that at least he still has function in his legs, therefore they can retrain them through physio.
It was so touch and go on Wednesday night. I am still in shock by all the events that happened that night.
honestly l already hug and kiss my kids a hundred times a day, but now l make it 200.
Thanks for your prayers and l will let you all know more later.
PS. Magnus is doing great. Alot of sleeping and relaxing but his eye is starting to look so much better.

praying for Braydon.....

Last night we receive horrible news that best friends of ours little one was air lifted to Sick Kids Hospital.
He has spinal meningitis.
Braydon has swelling on the brain which has made him extremely ill.
As a parent and a friend of the family l truly can't imagine what they are going through. My mind is racing and my positive thoughts are coming their way.
Because we are so close, we had to rush our children up to the hospital to have them both tested since they are in direct contact with him.
Dylan has had the flu so l was really scared for him, hoping that he did not test positive.
Alyssa checked out okay, but because Dylan was a bit sick they gave him the meningitis medication.
Our town is now under watch for there has been a few people sick now with meningitis.
I hardly slept at all last night thinking and praying for Braydon.
I feel that l need to do something for them.
All l want to do is sit and hold my children close and realize how quickly things can change.
Hold your kids tight and love them up!
I will keep you up to date.

the 411 on Magnus

First of all thank you to everyone how has called or e-mailed me about our big boy Magnus (aka the dog) about his surgery.

To let you all know Magnus came home yesterday. I hadn't full prepared myself for what l was about to see. When l first saw him l thought he had a patch on his eye but soon realized that there was no bandage. That they had shaved around his eye. His area around where the eye should be is about 10 times its normal size because of the swelling. I broke into tears but soon said to myself..."pull yourself together for the kids". It just looks so awful. My heart hurts for him so much. To top all of this off they have sent the eye away because the doctor fears that he may have cancer. Can you believe it. So l am staying positive and hoping for the best.

I was going to attached a whole bunch of pictures of him after the surgery but decided against it for it is a bit graphic looking. This picture isn't as bad because you really can't see his soar eye.

The problem that he are having now is that he has been home for a day and hasn't eaten or drank a thing. Nor will he take his medicine that helps with the pain and prevents infection. I will give it till tonight and if nothing l will call the vets.

Again thank you everyone and l will keep you all up to date.
warm wishes,
Tracey

Getting so nervous....

I just have to say that l am getting so nervous. Our dog is going in for surgery to get his eye removed on Thursday evening. Surgery is not till Friday at 10:30am. I feel as though this is like one of my kids. I keep calling the vet asking questions...making sure things will be fine. But l still can't help but be worried. I hate the fact that he is going to be over night at the vet hospital Thursday as well as Friday night. Friday he will be drugged up ...but on Thursday he just wont know what is happening to him. Magnus has never been in a kennel so this is just going to freak him right out.

The worst part of this all is that l am going away Friday night to see Colin James in the city with my older sister and will be spending a night out in Toronto. Therefore l will not be home when Magnus gets picked up from the vets on Saturday. But l am so looking forward to night out with my sister. Not very often that we get together so this will be fun. I am sure Magnus will be fine, but l just can't help but worry about the guy. Like l said before we love him so much. He has been an amazing dog to us all. So please think positive thoughts about him on Friday at 10:30am when he is having his surgery...sniff...sniff. Heres to the one eyed dog!

Just have to say that l am very excited. l just had my 8th wedding of the year booked last night. So l will be very busy with alot of editing to do. Great couples so l think they will all be so much fun.

I will keep everyone posted about our boy Magnus and how things went.

Have a great week everyone.

Something that l haven't done in a long time.
Felt really good.
These pictures are from the summer time when we all went camping.
As you can see Dylan "thinks" that he is spiderman.
I tell you boys keep you always busy.
I need to scrapbook more.
I do miss it.

Good news...................

Omgosh...l am so over whelmed. I can't stop crying. My moms boyfriend is going to pay for my dog to have his eye removed so we don't have to put him down.
Wow
I am speechless. We were so upset but just couldn't get enough money together by ourselves to do it and then a miracle happen and John called us tonight and said he wanted to do this for us and the kids. He said that he knew how much we loved our dog and how great he is.
I will forever be thankful. Words could never express what l feel. Calling the vet first thing in the morning!
There are truly good people in this world. John has done a wonderful thing for us. Thank you!
Some people think that is alot of money to spend on a animal...but our dog is our family.
He is well worth it.
I love him so.

missing in action..........

hi everyone....

I feel like it has been ages since l posted last time here but so much has been happening. Alyssa's birthday party was a blast but when having that many kids together one of them is bound to have some "germs"/ Almost everyone who came to the party ended getting a really BAD case of the stomach flu. I think thirty people came down with it. I truly can't remember the last time l was so ill. The hardest part of it all, is everyone in the family was feeling the same way. I stayed in bed all day Saturday and Sunday. Which is something that doesn't happen very often. I was trying so hard to look after my wee ones but at the same time just couldn't function. My husband was the same way. We all seem to be on the mend now but Dylan had it the worst. Poor little guy he still doesn't want to really eat. I have now disinfected my house from top to bottom and pray that all the germs are gone. I have never done so much laundry in the past few days. Both the kids have favorite blankets and when they were sick they had to be washed NOW!. I am sure some of you moms out their can relate. Anyhow all seems to be getting better.

Sad news in our house. Our dog is very ill. He took sick in the beginning of Jan. We thought that he was going blind in his one eye and it was giving him problems. So off to the vet we went. We were told that he had a eye disease. So we started treatment on his eye with special drops. We have spent $600.00 already on him and are now told that it will not fix the problem. That they would need to remove his eye which is estimated at $1500.00 and that it may not work for the disease may spread to his other eye. This is all really hard for us and we are feeling alot of guilt because we are unable to give him the surgery. To much money. We have had a really tough few months financial with money set backs. The list is to big to go into detail. There we have no more money to give. With to small children we have to put their needs first. My husband and are true animal lovers and our dog Magnus is so much part of our family. He is going to be 9 in April and is part newf and lab. Beautiful and sweet. He is a gentle giant. Actually he thinks that he is this tiny lap dog, but weights 90 pds. My husband and l tear up all the time these past weeks thinking of the day when we will have to put him down. So now we wait until he shows signs of pain or discomfort and then we know what we must do. I just love him so much and wish we could do more, but we had to draw the line somewhere. Times like this l wish l was rich. I do know that he has had a great 9 years and has been spoiled rotten and has always had me home with him to love him up. I guess this is the down fall of having pets. It is so hard. So please keep him in your thoughts and pray that he is going to be okay.

Now to something that made me laugh but was a inconvenience is Dylan my 2 year old decided to sneak into the office and play on the computer. When l came into the room everything on the screen was completely upside down. He had pushed a button or code.... something to flip everything on my monitor the opposite way. When l walked into the room he was all smiles and said, "hi mommy". It is hard to get angry when they have that toothy grin. So my sister in-law and me tried or best to fix the problem but were unable to. So off to the computer shop the PC went to get a quick fix. The guy there was laughing and said there is a first time for everything.....! so true. The things they do.

On a positive note l have lost 11 pds in the month of January. Wow. Feels so good. I am loving weight watchers so far. Sometimes l get hungry, but nothing as bad as past diets. So l hope the next ten come off just as fast. Wish me luck.

I am going to try to snap a few pictures of magnus this week. I will post some later.
Have a great rest of the week everyone.
