So this year we are having our family Christmas at the Farm...as you all know one of my favorite places in the world. Something about the farm to me is so magical and relaxing. I could live there all year round. Our family is so large in numbers that it only makes sense to have it there.

Now it couldn't be a Christmas without a fresh tree. And our farm has lots to pick from. So off our family went pick and cut a tree down ....needless to say...we ended up with a "Charlie Brown" one...but we all felt it was beautiful. Beauty is in the eyes of the beholder.

The kids also got into the spirit by makin some home decorations for the Christmas tree. Cranberries and popcorn were strung together to give it a special touch! My kiddos had a blast and so did l.

I have to say that i felt proud to shoot this couple. Andy is in the canadian army as been over seas many times. I had to express to him how thankful l am to him for all that he does to help keep my family safe. And that l am thankful to his wife to be for being so strong, brave and supportive :)

its that time of the year again

so it was that time of the year again when the kiddos start school. I have to say i was extremely nervous for my little guy was starting JK and had no interest what so ever about the whole school thing. It was so bad that he didn't even want to talk about it. The day was fast approaching and guess what......

he went and loved it.

wow

i was in shock ...no tears...no fuss...no crying....just a "i will see ya later Mommy"...

my heart was heavy that day...but i love that he loves it and that makes me happy.

As for Miss Alyssa....Grade 1...can you believe that...i sure can't. First week was abit hard on her....hard to get use to the everyday thing. But of course our girl is doing awesome and even won an award this month for RESPECT. Super proud momma here.

okay okay.....i know i am so bad and feel so bad. But we all know what summer brings...busy times for family and life as a photographer...lol

All is well here and we are all still kicking. The weather has been crazy and i truly feel like it has not been much of a summer...lots of rain and storm here in Lindsay Ontario....lol.

We had an eventful week...went to Niagara Falls and Marineland with kids. A nice mini vacation. Kids of course loved it. I got some great pictures from it so i will post when i have some free time. That maybe in dec of next year. Alyssa also lost he top upper teeth. Looks so cute. And well Dylan is not excepting the fact that he is going to school in the fall....my poor guy. He just wants to be with me...his momma.

So here are just a few pictures i will post more later...honestly i will try. Thank you to all my regular bloggers checkin to see if i am okay...you guys are the best.

so i know that l have been neglecting my blog. But my life has had some great additions and thus making me get behind....

I had an amazing day today. Had a photo shoot up in Burleigh Falls and my subject was just wonderful. Amazing from the inside and out and it showed. I really and truly could of not asked for a better day.

The weather was fabulous ......you know the kind where the sun is just shinning. It was the type of day that you just wanted to grab a blanket and sit at the water. Capturing all its beauty.

The drive was breath taking as well. I had a chance to really reflect on my life an myself......i loved this time. I see new changes happening soon. Nothing l love more then turning up a good tune and rocking out to it :)

As you can tell l love days like today where the sun is shinning ....and you are with good company.

I only hope to get more days like today.

I am happy.

So the family and l headed to the river with the kids in tow. We had a stop off at the local ice cream shop...yum...and then went to go and feed the ducks. Something that we all enjoy doing. I thought l would post a few of our other family members. Magnus and Mr. Muggins. They now seem to be bonding just fine. Magnus just turned 9 ...and it was also over one year ago that that he had his eye removed. As you can see...he is managing very well. We love them both.

As you can see Mr.Muggins is adjusting very well in his new digs. But his hair is another issue. Still not growing very fast...lol

Okay l am so super excited. I got a phone call last week from a special someone telling me that they would love to use a few of my photos for the cover of the Canadian Scrapbooker special edition in Septemeber. Talk about total shock. They want to use pictures of my babies. Wow. I will not tell you all what pictures they would like to use. That can be a surprise :)

I can say ...that my children are so excited and proud and can't wait to go to our local store to pick up a copy! So keep an eye for my two cuties to be on the cover in Sept.

I know that l have been missing in action lately but this is my busy time. Not that l am complaining though. I love it so much and love what l do....it just infers with my blog time...lol

I have just over 20 weddings this year so they are keeping me busy as well as the kiddos are just finishing up school and after school activities. So those of you who are parents know what life is like at this point...lol. Almost something ever night.

They other day the kids were itching to go to the local zoo. Something that we love to do in the warmer months. They have a new otter exibit which is great. I had to snap a few of my little man having a look in the display window. How cute is he standing there. I love him so. He just looks so big in these. Time is flying. I just inrolled Dylan into school this past week and he had his interview with the prinicpal. Nothing was cutier then watching him sit in his chair with that serious look on his face. I can't believe it. My boy starting JK in fall. Sniff sniff. I tell you i KNOW that l am going to have some emotional issues that day. Yes he is ready but is mommy. NO. He truly is a momma's boy.

So the long weekend came and went for us. He headed to the family farm for a few days. And well of course Alyssa has to wear her "farm" hat...lol...i just love her in it. Simply adorable. I didn't take to many pictures....5 to be exact. I fell ill with the flu and ended going home. It was a 24 hour bug thingy....YUCK
but to me truthful ...l am glad that it happend that weekend for l had no weddings booked. Really could not have imagined shooting a wedding feeling so crappy :(
But things are now back to normal as normal can be...lol....
Business is great... super busy...more so then last year and family is doing wonderful :)

I have to say that we have had a few very emotional weeks. We had to put our 22 year old cat down. It was extremely hard for all. I have had her since l was 14. My family adopted Sheena from a local humane society. At the time and were informed that she was approximately 3 years old already. She was been a part of my family for so many years. When my parents divorced in 2001...l some how inherited her. Since then the kids have become so fond of her. Sheena was the end all be all. Snuggling with them at night and greeting them at the door.

We have been preparing them for awhile now that Sheena would be leaving us for heaven. So the time came and it was the hardest thing that my husband and l have ever had to do. It was hard on us... but watching the kids go through it was even harder. We did our best to explain it to them both. Death to a 3 and 6 year old is really hard for them to grasp...especially Dylan. Night after night we were up with him trying explain heaven and where Sheena is now.
Telling him that heaven is a magical place where there is no pain, no suffering , no sadness. That Sheena was happy and looking down on us all. In the midst of our conversation Dylan asked how Sheena gets to heaven...his thoughts on this was that she went in a rocket ship how ...he also wished that he could say "hocus pocus" and she would be back with as all. My hearts breaks as we sit in bed and have this conversation with one another.

After days and days of tears, l thought l would take the kids over to our local Humane Society and just have a LOOK...nothing more...but that was not the case. We looked at a few cats and l told the workers of our situation. I explain that the kind of cat that we needed was one that was super cuddly. They took us to a back room and said..."if you can get over his hair do then this is the perfect cat for you". There he was Mr. Muggins. In all is glory and funky hair do to boot. They had to shave him because he was a stray and was so natty. So he had a big head and tail full of fur but no where else...lol...AS soon as we came out of his cage he climbed onto Dylan lap and snuggled in right away. It was amazing to watch . Really. I had a moment and thought this cat is meant for us. I truly believe this. You have to meet Mr. Muggins to understand this. We have all fallen in love with the little guy. Mugs has the best little personality ever and wants nothing more then to give love. We have welcomed him into our family :)

Now don't get me wrong. We still miss our Sheena and Dylan still has tears...but Mr. Muggins has made this time much easier. As you can tell we are true animal lovers and treat them as one of us. We laid our Sheena to rest in out backyard where we are planting a tree to represent her.

I suggest that if anyone is looking to get an animal please go to your local animal shelter first. There are so many beautiful pets there that all need loving homes. Pets get adopted so easily from pet stores and such. Our Mr. Muggins is 2 years old and is so thankful to be in a home after months and months in a cage. Just something to think about.

The weather around here has been amazing and l have to say that is one of the reasons that l have been missing in action. I love it. It was far to long of a winter.

So what better way then to enjoy this weather then on the farm. The kids just love it...and they are even more excited because Papa and Nanny bought them a trampoline for there...and are now in the process of building a small pond for swimming. So much to do up there and so much fun always.

Time for change....

So l was thinking it was time for a change...
and going brunette was it...
I think that this pictures is not the best...lol..my face looks huge. Self portrait and all :)
My hair was getting so damaged by the bleaching of the blonde and this winter was so harsh on it. So time for a change and this is what l got.
I do like it though. I think it makes my skin colour look better (healthier) as well as my eyes look so blue.
I have to say l was abit surprised by my husband's reaction ...l thought he would hate it lol...he remembers the days of me being a girl with long blonde curly hair...but he liked it. So that was a plus.

Think l may get a few copper highlights next week.

Change is always good.

Another positive note around here is the weather is improving and the snow is official gone. Spring is coming and l can not wait.

Just had to share....

my family and l where involved in Earth Hour Saturday night at 8pm. We explained to the kiddo's what was the meaning behind Earth Hour and all the benefits of it. So on Saturday night we turned off our lights, tvs, computers all that we could and burned the candles and turned on the flash lights. Truly it was so much fun. The kids thought it was so cool. He talked and played board games and had a bunch of fun with the flash lights. Alyssa says... "mom can we do that every weekend"...lol

It was amazing to look out on the street and see so many houses go dark.

I know l am a day late but l just wanted to wish all of you a HapPy EaSteR!
I hope that the Easter bunny was good to you all. I have to say the Easter Bunny spoiled our little ones far to much this past weekend and now there is way way way to much chocolate and candy in my house ....which could lead to momma eating LOTS of it. I have to admit l have such a sweet tooth for candy and sweeties. If it is there l WILL eat it. There goes the diet...lol

We celebrated our Easter up at the family farm. Like l have told you all before...nothin beats the farm. I just love it up there and the renovations are comin along. I only wished that we could have done our egg hunt outside but l think the kids would of had difficulties finding all the eggs under the 4 feet of snow we have. But next year Easter falls on April 12th so hopefully we can have our egg hunt on the farm outside :)

It was great seeing all the family. Lasagna was super yummy. Mom and l made her famous recipe that everyone loves. There was even a tray left over..... so that's what we are having for dinner tonight. YUM. My favorite. Kids had a blast and were even more excited when the looked out the kitchen window and saw a rabbit. Talk about make there Easter. We told him that he was checking to make sure that we were here. Honestly there was no complaints when it was bed time. They knew what was in store for the morning.

Here are just a few snap from the day. I have to say l was really busy. There was 22 of us and well l was busy cookin and socializing.

Okay and this picture was taken at the end of the day when Dylan and his cousin Mitch had a bit of a run in head but can of thingy and well Dylan got a black eye out of it. Poor guy.

On a another note l just wish l would feel better. I have been sick now for weeks and just can't wait to feel "normal". I was told two weeks ago that l had strep throat and was on antibiotic's for 10 days. I thought l was on the mend but woke up this morning feel really awful and unable to swallow again...so off to the doctor's l go for my second round of antibiotic's. The problem is the doctor says is that l need to be on penicillin but am unable to take for l am allergic to it...BIG TIME :( So now they need to substitute for something else. Hopefully this will do the trick this time. I hope so...l am feelin so tired all the time. Kids are doing well and seem to be gettin better. To me they always seem to bounce back faster. Which is a plus :)

Well again l hope everyone has any enjoyable Easter weekend. I know we did!

510jen- You asked my about the sizing of the photos in my blurb book. l did not use my pictures from my blog. I downloaded the from my PC...but l think you can down load right from your blog. You can write them the company...they get back to you super quick!

orange- you asked me what lens l used on our vacation trip to CUBA...l only used one lens and that was my favorite one of all lenses...my sigma 28-70 2.8/f...loved this lens you can use it for almost anywhere and anything :)

jenny- I love my blurb book so much that l am in the process of making more. I found that it was nice and simple. As for the pink rubber boots that my daughter has...l got them our local store called Giant Tiger. I am not sure if you have that store in your area...but it has great deals. I think they were only like $7 dollars. Got to love that.

So if anyone has anymore questions feel free to ask and l will do my best to write back. Again thanks everyone for visiting my blog.

me and the little ones have been sick

Not to much to blog on the home front....we have all been sick. Mostly with really sore throats...it's truly amazing how fast the little ones can bounce back. They were well on mondsay and here l am on wednesday and finally moving some what. Been in my bed for three whole days.
I finally gave in last night and went to the walk in clinic. I spent 3 and a half hours with a bunch of really healthy people...lol. They did a throat swab to see if l have strep throat....i have a feeling a do. I have never had it before so if l do l can tell you it hurts so much. Hoping to feel well soon.

On a happier note we got hit with 50cm of snow in one day. LOL. We hit a record of snow since 1865 (l think) that is what the weather man said. So you can only imagine how much snow we have now :(...i want spring...lol

Warning picture overload...

This past weekend l had a chance to photograph they cutest litle girl ever. I could honestly not get enough of this little darling. What a doll. She was all smiles especially when you put hats on her. Her momma said that Miss M just adores them. I so agree :)
Miss M also had they most amazing eyes. The were the clearest blue and you could just melt looking at them. What a sweet heart.

Today it hit plus 12...thats right. It was amazing out...and the kids were in heaven. Even the sun was shinning :)
With all that snow melting though it made for some super wet clothes. I think l put the snow suits in the dryer like 5 times yesturday!
Well we enjoyed it while it last...for today we are getting anywhere from 20-30cm of snow and it is minus 6.
Mother nature was just teasing us with alittle taste of spring.
Spring please come soon...we miss you...lol

I had the chance to photograph this cute little girl this past weekend. She was a doll. I loved her hair. All of it...lol...I am so use to little babies that are so fair or have no hair. My little ones were so blonde and were lacking in the hair department for the longest time :)

So we did it...
Alyssa got her hair cut. Daddy was so againist it and so was she, but the problem was that her hair was in need of a major cut. Her hair was really uneven and thin and needed some help. So l used my mommy powers and told her that if she let us cut it then we would go shopping for some new hand bands and clips...lol..she loves that stuff. A typical little girl :)

We actually cut more then l thought. It was around 5 1/2 inches. Wow. I love it and so does she. I think that she looks super sassy and that her hair looks thicker and much more healthier. Moms always now best...right. Even daddy thought l was right and that doesn't happen very often ...lol

We managed to snap a few pictures yesturday outside. It was ummmm.....+ 1 out and well... we all loved it. Felt like spring. You have to understand that PLUS 1 felt amazing after all the cold, snowy weather that we have had. Still wishing for an early spring.

how long have you been together? married: we have been married fro 2.5 years but have benn together for 9.5 years

how long did you date? 7.5 years...lol

how old is he? 30 (i'm 32...what can l say...he loves older woman :)

who eats more? for sure him...never ending stomach.

who said ‘i love you’ first? he did. We started dating in June and he said it to my on my birthday which was in november. I will remember it forever.

who is taller? he is. I am 5 foot 3 and he is 6 foot4... a big difference

who is smarter? well, he is smarter. I hate to admit...but is like a sponge and absorbs information on everything...he know the funniest things

who does the laundry? me.

I'll tell you...l love it when Alyssa has little events and celebrations in her class. I always love thinking of cool ideas. I had seen this some where and thought it would be a great idea. We made these for Valentine's Day for her class. We bought a whole bunch of candy at the Bulk Barn food store and then put them on bambo sticks, wrapped them up with v-day paper and tied them up with some pink ribbon and a custom made valentines day card of the one and only...

We had extra help of course from Dylan who was the "passer" of the candy...lol

I love the finally result but l have to tell you they were alot harder then l thought. It was hard gettin that candy down that bambo stick...lol

Hi there...
I have had a few e-mails from people asking me what lenses l use. Here are the ones that l use most. Love them all but my sigma 28-70/2.8 is usually on most of the time. I love it :)

I ordered a new lens and will be gettin it in the next couple of weeks...so excited. I am gettin the PENTAX 16-50/2.8. I can't wait to play with it.

As well Pentax just came out with a new DSLR K20D which is a 14.5 megapixel. I thought l may buy it but then l heard that Pentax should be releasing a new DSLR in january 2009 and it is going to be extreme. Rumors are that it will be very PRO and a 21 megapixel...similar to the CANON Mark series camera. So l will sit and wait...saving my pennies for this new baby...Did l mention l hate waiting...lol

So we had Alyssa's 6th birthday party this weekend and l have to tell you it was abit crazy with 14 little 5 and 6 year olds running around. I think that next year l will invite half the amount...lol. But the main thing was for Alyssa to have fun and she sure did. I tell you though man can you ever see the difference between boys and girls. The girls played well and the boys...they like to beat each other up. The things l get to look forward to when Dylan starts having his classmates over :)
I hardly took any photos because l was super busy painting faces and entertaining. Too bad...l will post the few that l do have later this week.
However, l was able to shoot a few pictures before the guests arrived of Alyssa. Wanted to use these for her Valentines Day cards for school, but l am just not to sure what l think. Let me know what one you like and any cool sayings that you would write along with it please. I would love some feed back from you all.
Speaking of feed back l can not thank you all enough for taking the time to read my blog and leave comments. Nothing l love more then cooments. So thanks a bunch.

Just to let you all know, we are having another snow day today as well as l think there will be one tomorrow to. Had a snow storm come through last night and another one on the way tonight. Alyssa may not have to go to school all winter ...lol

The winter blues....

Have l ever mentioned how much l truly hate winter. Well l do. Never have. I was one of thoose kids that never even wanted to step foot outside during these months. I hated the cold. Truly l could live somewhere that it is warm all year around. Even when the summer comes l find that l still bundle up, layering myself in sweaters. I am a sun seeker and love nothing more then the warmth of sunrays...so as you can see winter gives me the blues.
I become a hermit and live indoors from november to april...lol. Like today here we are in a middle of a snow storm. Minus 15 and we are about to get oh.................30cm of snow. I hate it. Kids had 3 days of no school this week because of the weather., and our city went of strike as of noon today so no snow plows...lovely.

SO
I sit and wait patiently for spring...okay maybe not patiently but l oh so badly want it toarrive...

Tomorrow is Ground Hog day and l am keeping my fingers crossed for an early spring :)

This weather makes me lack energy and even the desire to pick up my camera. I have these ideas floating in my had but need the weather to break. Come on spring arrive soon PLEASE!

Anyho...Alyssa is having her 6th birthday party this sunday. So her and l put the lot bags together today. She is bursting. This is her first year that she is having class mates. To cute. I went to my local dollar store and bought these cute little wicker purses for the girls and little napsakes for the boys. Something alittle different l thought. There will be 14 of them. Thats right 14. What have a gotten myself into...lol...i may need to call in back up. Here are just a few pictures of my little creations.

she is six already...

So l can't believe it...my little girl has turned six already. Truthfully it just felt like the other day that we were celebrating her 2nd, 3rd, 4th birthday's but now SIX.

She is growing so quickly and into such alittle lady. I couldn't ask for a better daughter then her. I have always called her my angel...for that is what she is like. So good, goes with the flow and loving beyond words.

AG and were lying in bed last night remember when she came into our lives. She was 7pds 6oz. and almost 23"long. Thats right. She had these super long legs like her daddy. I got the joy of feeling them kick me in my rib cage for months...lol

She did not want to come out. 36hrs of labor then to have a c-section. I tell you!

But when she came out she was so good...hardly cried, smiled all the time. She was a good good baby. People told me how blessed l was that she was so well behaved.

We fell in love with her that very moment and now she has grown in such a little lady.

SIX YEARS...

wow!

I look back at all the memories that she has given us over the past six years and am thankful to have her in our lives.

So sweetheart...we love you so much and wish you a very Happy Birthday!

Alyssa is so lucky this year. She gets three birthdays. We celebrated this past sunday with family. Then today. Her really birthday. Took her out for dinner and daddy brought her home a dozen pink long stem roses (she is daddy's little girl :)...) Then the BIG party happens next weekend when she has 13 of her little friends over for her birthday party....oh help me...

No really help me...lol

This is the first year that she has had little ones at her b-day from her class. So it should be fun. I am doing a circus theme. I will post pictures of the day...face painting...popcorn machine...clowns...and fun!

Guess who lost two teeth in less then 24hrs...Alyssa!

She has had two front teeth loss for months. But last night it happend it fell out.

Talk about excitement in our house.

Under the pillow it went and the tooth fairy worked her magic and volia...

$5.00 under her pillow...lol

Now we explained to Alyssa that the tooth fairy usually leaves the first tooth for you to keep and gives a bit more money for it.

Then the following day the second tooth fell out. Wow.

Once again the tooth fairy worked her magic and well

$2.00 under her pillow again.

Now she wants to go shoppin...lol

This does make me happy. I am sad. Why do they grow up so fast..

Happy New Year everyone.

Just wanted to say a quick hello and that we are back safe and sound from Cayo Coco Cuba.

It was my best vacation by far. Loved this place and will be back again for sure.

So l was workin away in my office and then heard Alyssa come down and say

Okay l could not stop laughing. He was dressed head to toes in Alyssa's stuff. Even underwear.
I had to grab the camera and snap a few...you never know this could come in handy...lol

He even had the hand on the hip action...lol

So l watched a movie years ago and loved it but for the life of me l could not remember the name of it. Then l was flippin through the channels to see what is on tonight. I am solo. AG is in a wedding on New Years Eve so he is at the rehearsal tonight. Yes and l am the photographer...lol so l will be there too!

Anyways, there it was. The best movie ever.

"Life As A House"

Starring : Kevin Kline, Hayden Cristensen and Kristin Scott Thomas

Love it. So moving. it was one of those movies that touches you to the core and makes you want to reflex on yours and see where or what can l do to fix it. After watching it, all l wanted to do was call my dad.

So the kids need to be in bed by 8pm, and me and my pj's have an appointment on the couch to watch this flick.

If you haven't watched it...l suggest you do :)

Bits and Bites of Christmas...

So like every year Christmas is crazy busy! But we all were healthly (knock on wood) and survived it.

Did l mention we were spoiled too.

But the best news of all is my Mom and her boyfriend are sending us all to CUBA... there will be 17 of us all going. The children from my moms side as well as John's side. Grandchildren and siblings plus them. A huge family vacation. I truly can not wait. We leave next friday for a full week. So l will have tons of pictures from it.

I am looking forward to doing nothing :)

This is Alyssa first Christmas concert. So cute. They were sing "Ten Little Angels". It was entertaining. Alyssa is the 5th from the left. The tall one...lol

This my my mom (aka Nanny with Hayden). He was born in may 2 and a half months early and now look at him. So health and so chubby.

During our Christmas dinner we had a special visit from the one and only...

Okay... the best but loudest present yet...DRUMS...plus my dad got Dylan a electric guitar. Can l just say ear plugs please!

This was my last family photo shoot of the year. I could have not had a better and kinder family to have worked with. They are a family of 7 and and so beautiful ...on the inside and out. It was truly a joy working with them and they should me the true meaning of family.

A few pictures from my POWER BOAT Trip in the Bahamas...

I know that it has been a long time since l have been back from my wedding shoot in Bahamas. But l have been on picture over drive since l have been back. Things have now slowed down abit so l just had a
chance to edit one of the best trips of my life.

In the Bahamas they have a day trip called Power Boat Aventures...

All l have to say was it was amazing...out of this world...once in a life time experience!

The day started off with a power boat ride that goes 80 miles per hour (like the miami vice boat) lol..

You are on it for about an hour where you arrive to a private island, where you get off to feed the iguanas. Now these are no normal iguanas..these ones are HUGE...3 feet to be exact. We fed them grapes, went for a dip and then took off to another private island for the rest of the day!

This island is breath taking. The beach is beautiful. The whitest sand and the bluest water.

Here they feed us a meal that is to die for. From fresh salads ..to chicken and ribs.

Then we feed the sting rays and sharks...Yes that right. They came from miles aroung :)

After that we get into the water with them and snorkalled out to the coral reef.

Simply amazing. Here we are in the middle of no where...swimming with hundreds of sharks and sting rays.

It was un believable.

Never in a million years did l feel that l would ever do this.

But l did...i think the free rum helped...lol

We were in the water and all round me were SHARKS...wow!

so if you are ever in the Bahamas l would so recommend this trip. It was $200. but so well worth. Words and pictures can not justify it's true beauty.

Twenty something and still holding...

Let me introduce "Sheena" to you all.

She is my cat from when l was a little girl. My parents adopted her from a local animal shelter when l was 15. At the time we got her they figured that she was approximately already 3-4 years old. Since l turned 32 last week , that would make Ms. Sheena about ...

20-22 yrs old.

That's right.

Now she is my daughters cat. And l mean hers. They have such a close bond and she is really really attatched to her, which is causing abit of emotions to flow lately.

Sheena is starting to get abit slow and you can tell that she has arthritis in back legs. Some days are worse then others. Despite that she is still in good health and is always happy and purring to every touch.

We are now trying to prepare Alyssa to the reality that she is getting old and will be going to heaven soon.

So hard to explain to your child, especially when they are so close. Alyssa tears up and says that she doesn't wait to discuss it. But we try to tell her that it isn't fair to let any animal be in pain. So when the time comes that l feel that she needs to be but down ...l will as hard as it is.

If anyone has any advice on explaining or helping the transition of a death of a pet l would love to hear it.

To tell you the truth l still think this girl has a few more years left and l hope so. I will miss her too. She has been in my life for many years. When my parents divorced about 7 years ago...

Sheena came to live with my husband and l and once again she was apart of my family :)

Alyssa has been asking me for awhile to take some pictures of her and her friend.

So we did and this is one of my favorites.

I am enlarging it and framing it for her so she can have it in her bedroom.

This will be so very special to her...

This little guys has to be one of my sweetest clients ever...

I have had the chance to photograph him this past year 3 times and he has always been a joy. Smiles from ear to ear.

But this time l noticed ONE dimple and man was it ever cute.

I love it !

Did l mention that his eyes are the bluest eyes ever. I seriously could sit and take his pictures all day long :)

First snow fall

Well had our first SNOW day yesturday and the kids were so excited.

They woke up to only look and the window and see white fluffy snow everywhere.

Talk about excitement for a 3 and 5 year old.

The buses were cancelled so volia....it's a snow day!

Alyssa thought she could catch the snow flakes with her tongue...lol

I remember doing that when l was her age :)

Well here is the start to the winter weather and l tell you l would be very happy if it left after Christmas.

Yuck it is cold and wet out!

Remembrance Day Photos...

Oky l know that these are not the greatest photos in the world but they mean the world to me.

Alyssa was in the Remembrance Day Parade.

She was matching with her Sparks group.

I have to say l was so very proud of my little girl. It even brought a tear to my eye.

AG has her taught her the importance of Remembrance Day and that she should always respect the soliders who where in the war.

She was so proud that she carried the flag.

So how excited was l to finally meet Robin (aka) Nibor on 2 peas in bucket. She and l have been chatting now for about a year and finally met last week. I had a chance to photography her beautiful family.

It is so nice to finally meet someone who shares in all the same interests as you. And her family was so easy going. I could have loved her little ones up. They are around the same age as my two.

Here are just a few from the photo shoot.

Also some great and amazing news on the home front....my family is going to CUBA on Jan5 for a week. My mother and her boyfriend called a family meeting last Tuesday to annouced that they are sending all of us to cuba...kids, grandchildren, spouses and them. A total of 17 of us going...wow!

What an amazing gift and what a surprise. My kids are so excited about everything...the beach, plane, pool. They have never been anywhere like this so this will be an adventure and l can't wait to sit and watch them. Oh to be a child again.

I can not thank my mom and John enough for this. This gift is going to create memories for all of us that will last a lifetime for sure.

So l have been going crazy trying to get all the paper work...birth certificates, passports and such in order by then.

But it is SO well worth it. Can't wait. My busy season will be over with photos and l will have time to sit and relax...something that l need.

So excited.

The story of the red balloon...

So l have to sit and tell you all the story of the red balloon.

The other night my husband and l were sitting on the couch watching tv with kids, when we noticed that Dylan seemed to be really busy. He ran to his room and grabbed his pillows as well as his blankets and layed them all out in a nice little pile in front of the couch. Then he climbed onto the couch and started tying the red balloon string around his foot. With that he got up...standing on the couch and started flapping his arms so so fast. He had such determination on his face....then he jumped...into his pile of stuff.

He layed there for a secon, with a look on his face like "why didn't it work" and then looked over at my husband and l and said "why can't l fly".

My husband and l really got a good laugh at him. His imagination was truly makin him feel that if he tied this red balloon around his ankle that he would be able to fly. Honestly the way that he was flapping his arms l thought he just may take off :)

You have to enjoy the imagination of a three year old.

Just wanted to share a few more pictures of the kiddos on Halloween.

I have to say that these are not some of my best work...but as always the night was crazy busy with dinner and customes and takin them here and there before the actual Trick or Treating starts.

I had to crank my iso up to like 1600 (i know) but livin in ontario canada it gets dark really early here and well you have to be fast and l was losin light pluse Dylan only lasted about a half an hour. Still not feelin well. Poor little guy. So if l wanted a picture of him l needed to work fast.

Don't you just love his wink above. I do.

And of course Alyssa has to pose for each and every picture...lol

This one was taken earlier in the day on the way to school. It was in the door way of my mud room. The light was comin in. I just burned out the back ground with PS. Got to love PS.

I have to tell you what Alyssa said to me when she got home from Trick or Treating... she said..."mom, l sure did get the mother load". Where does she come up with these things!
